On 13 th September 2024 the Montessori children took an exciting field trip to two important places in the neighborhood: the local market and the railway station. This trip aimed to give the children a hands-on learning experience, helping them understand how markets and transportation play crucial roles in everyday life.

Places Visited

Grade M1 and M2 - The Railway Station

The children visited the local railway station. They were thrilled to watch trains arrive and depart. The station staff showed them the ticket counter, waiting area, and platforms. Learning Focus: The children learned about trains as a mode of transportation, how people travel to different places, and the importance of the railway system in connecting communities.

Grade M3 - The Local Market

The first stop was the bustling local market. The children observed vendors selling fresh fruits, vegetables, grains, and household goods. They had the opportunity to talk to shopkeepers and even help pick out some fresh produce.
Learning Focus: Children learned about different types of food, where it comes from, and how people buy items for their homes. They explored the concepts of money and the importance of supporting local businesses.

Observations and Activities
