PRUDENCE MODEL UNITED NATIONS: WHERE YOUNG MINDS SHAPE THE WORLD
The Model United Nations (MUN) session was held in our school on 18th October with great enthusiasm and participation from students. The event aimed to nurture leadership, diplomacy, and critical thinking skills among young delegates.
The session commenced at 10:30 a.m. and concluded at 3:30 p.m., featuring three committees - SPECPOL (Special Political and Decolonization Committee), UNHRC (United Nations Human Rights Council), and the International Press (IP).
The SPECPOL committee was chaired by Brishti Parashar of Class 10 and moderated by Shreyas of Class 9, while the UNHRC was chaired by Kannika Keerthi of Class 10 and moderated by Saanvi Bhaskar of Class 9. The International Press was headed by Shishir of Class 9, who efficiently managed the reporting and documentation of the event.
The SPECPOL committee engaged in insightful discussions on "Decolonisation and Territorial Disputes," where delegates examined the lingering effects of colonial boundaries and proposed peaceful resolutions to modern territorial conflicts. Meanwhile, the UNHRC deliberated on "Protection in Conflict Zones," focusing on safeguarding civilians and upholding human rights during wars and humanitarian crises.
Throughout the day, over 60 delegates engaged in insightful debates, presenting well- researched arguments and demonstrating remarkable confidence. The discussions reflected their deep understanding of international issues and collaborative spirit.
By the end of the session, each committee successfully drafted comprehensive resolutions, marking the event as a day of learning, diplomacy, and intellectual growth. The MUN session concluded on a high note, inspiring students to continue exploring global perspectives with empathy and awareness.
The school congratulates all participants for making the event a grand success.
