"Join the global movement for a sustainable future this World Environment Day."
Prudence International School celebrated World Environment Day with a variety of engaging activities, highlighting our commitment to sustainability and environmental education across all grade levels. Environment Day is a global event dedicated to raising awareness about environment issues and encouraging actions to protect our planet. It serves as a reminder of the importance of preserving natural resources and fostering a sustainable future.
Our youngest students in Grades 1 and 2 began the day by creating vibrant newspaper collages, emphasizing the importance of recycling and creativity.
Students in Grades 3 and 4 participated in a hands-on gardening session, sowing seeds in the school garden to learn about plant growth and ecosystem balance. Grade 5 students showcased their creativity by repurposing plastic bottles into planters, promoting the concept of reusing and recycling which are sustainable practices.
Grades 6, 7, and 8 were engaged in a poster-making competition, zero in on environmental themes such as conservation and biodiversity. Students contributed to campus cleanliness by collecting dry leaves, which were later used in their insightful poster-making activity. Their artwork demonstrated a deep understanding of environmental issues and creativity in delivering impactful messages.
Meanwhile, Grades 9 and 10 attended an orientation on water harvesting systems, exploring sustainable water management practices and the importance of water conservation.
The day culminated in a special assembly led by students, featuring speeches and performances under the theme "Save the Environment." Following the assembly, students, along with our Administrative Officer and the Principal, sowed seed balls around the campus, symbolizing our dedication to environmental stewardship.
Additionally, parent-child activities focussed on reusing waste materials further reinforced sustainability values, with families creating art from stones, dry leaves, and clay.
World Environment Day at Prudence International School was a testament to our collective efforts in nurturing environmentally conscious individuals and fostering a sustainable future for all.
